Jontro Soinik 2.0 is a man-transportable Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) — a sophisticated, small-platform bomb disposal robot with heavy lifting capability that helps bomb technicians in Counter-Improvised Explosive Device (C-IED) operations.
It travels at 3 km/h, handles 40° inclines and 30 cm obstacles, and features a detachable arm with a minimum of 6 degrees of freedom, 120 cm reach and 5 kg lift capacity. The telescopic beam supports tools like disruptors, with a 2-hour battery life.
The drive system uses a belt-driven mechanism with independent flipper control, isolating wheel rotation from flipper orientation for precise control and stability on uneven terrain. The arm, made of steel, aluminium alloys and composites, offers ±100° turret rotation, 180° shoulder and elbow rotation, 300° wrist pitch, 360° continuous roll and a 550 mm telescopic reach.
The ROV operates from -5 °C to 55 °C and is IP54 rated — dust-protected and resistant to water splashes from any direction.
